UV radiation of short wave length has a strong germicidal effect.

Researches have shown, that the UV radiation with a wave length of 250 – 270 nm are showing the strongest effect. The cause is a result of absorption of UV-C radiation by the DNA. The absorbed energy is sufficient to cause such a chemical transformation that no multiplication by cell division can take place. For the unicellular organism like bacteria is this effect fatal. Depending on the radiation intensity, radiation time as well as the micro organisms, germs up to and over 99% will be reduced.

The devices are made from solid aluminium enclosures with anodised surfaces. On the top side possibilities to fix the unit are provided, so that the device can be built flexible in a production line or lab facility
